We recently welcomed news that the government is to create a new regulator to monitor the safety of construction products.
Overdue, maybe, and comes in response to evidence of poor practice by some manufacturers.
The new regulator will have sweeping powers. They will have the power to remove any product from the market that presents a significant safety risk.
Even better, the regulator can prosecute companies who flout the rules on product safety.
So, it’s a good time to emphasise that our philosophy has always been to fabricate to the highest quality. And by quality, we also mean the highest levels of safety.
Cornerstone
As a specialist in interior and exterior glazing systems, safety is the cornerstone of what we do.
It’s why specifiers internationally rely on us. Recent projects, large and small, have been completed in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Australia – as well as the UK.
We’re also accredited to ISO 9001, for both our offices and fabrication facilities.
We did so because many companies only have ISO 9001:2015 certification for their offices, which merely applies to administrative procedures.
Our view is that safety should extend through design to fabrication: a complete approach to safety.
It gives us control of every aspect of our business. If something goes wrong, we can immediately put it right.
Pathway
It also gives us a joined-up overview from our technical department through to fabrication. By having a clear pathway for every project, we can monitor safety more easily.
We take ISO 9001 extremely seriously, with all cut materials set, logged and checked. We’re therefore checking for quality and safety at every stage.
But it doesn’t stop there. We have a final inspection regime, both before and after powder coating.
Every component is checked and double-checked, from the glass itself to gaskets, fittings, and locks.
Our step-by-step procedures are administratively challenging and complex. But they ensure that that our customers can always rely on us for quality and absolute safety.
That’s something for us to be proud of.
