Modern glazed architecture has demanding requirements on the thermal and weather performance of glazing systems.
Thermal & Weather Performance – Use the correct glass & frame
Passive solar performing glass should be used, in conjunction with the SR series, so that heat loss through the system is avoided. To prevent damage to construction elements, the glass facade should also be effective against external humidity.
As a main element of the external envelope, the SR range effectively separates the room temperature from the climatic external conditions. One main factor is the ability to insulate heat, the other is to deal with the physical properties of water and air. Modern glazing designs, such as the SR series, fulfil these requirements and help to reduce the use of energy.
Tested
Thermal: The system has been performance tested and calculated in accordance with document L requirements, to EN ISO 10077. This analysis shows the SR curtain wall can provide an elemental U-value as low as 1.2w/m2 K.
Weather: Performance classifications according to EN13830 : 2003 – Product standard for curtain walling (CE Marking). Water tightness to 1650Pa.
