We’re about to start on-site on a prestigious refurbishment project in London.
Ebbark House is in historic Borough High Street.
It’s being transformed into office space across its lower ground, ground and three upper floors.
We’re delighted to be working on Ebbark House, given our refurbishment experience internationally.
For example, we were involved in the restoration of the Beirut souks in The Lebanon.
Closer to home, we were also recently completed the renovation of the iconic frontage of Kings Cross railway station.
On that project, and many others, we have to work to stringent regulations to protect the appearance of historic structures. We have certainly gained a lot of experience in heritage glazing over the years.
Dollman Ralston
Our client at Ebbark House is Dollman Ralston.
They specialise in high-end building and renovation projects with a focus in London.
Our contract involves the installation of fire-rated curtain walling and doors.
The internal curtain wall will span upwards from the lower ground to the ground floor.
Using our WSL SR60 series system, it will have a rating of 60/60 for fire and radiant heat.
Adding to the design challenge, the screen will have fire-rated doors at both levels.
In addition, we will be installing a number of other doors, some of which will be automated.
Wrightstyle offers a range of profiles for integrity and insulation, providing an unlimited number of fenestration options in fire resistant glazing.
It’s been a complex project to design, to create a protective screen which also had to be aesthetically pleasing.
Complexity
It will also be a complicated project to install, as there is no on-street parking on Borough High Street.
It means that everything will have to be wheeled in from some distance away and assembled on site.
That in itself won’t be easy, given the restricted area the installers will be working in.
We’ll be starting work on-site either next month or September and we’ll bring news of progress.
In the meantime, we’ll also soon take a look at some of the refurbishments we’ve worked on here and worldwide.
Because that long experience is part of the reason that architects and contractors trust our design team and our products.
