Blast Resistant Glass

Designed as a primary protection product, for use in our tested bomb resistant steel glazing systems. The glass prevents the fragmentation associated with normal glass. This is widely acknowledged as the main cause of injury when a building is subject to an explosive attack.

Blast resistant glass is constructed using a plastic medium that can remain elastic under pressure load. The glass absorbs and disperses the impact pressure wave whilst and provides retention of broken glass and flying debris.

The actual glass make-up and testing information is project confidential. However, specifications and recommendations are available on an individual enquiry basis.

There are two glass types in the Wrightstyle range. One, for integrity only, provides an effective barrier against the spread of fire. The other, for combined integrity and insulation, stops both the fire and radiant heat to form, for example, protected building escape routes.

These fully UV stable glass types are available to meet a range of time spans, from 30 to 120 minutes, and can incorporate solar control or low E glass without affecting the fire performance.

Both glass types are additionally UKAS certified for use into many different glazing systems from curtain walling to doors and roof glazing.

As a fully-toughened safety glass, the Wrightstyle range is perfect for challenging conditions where barrier loading or heavy-body impact has to be taken into consideration.

For high-risk buildings, Wrightstyle also offers blast and ballistic protective glasses, all fully tested against most forms of explosive device.

The Wrightstyle glass range is price-competitive and comes with a guarantee of efficient supply and quality of service.
